Welcome to My Blog

Writing has always been my space to pause, reflect and reconnect — a place where thoughts take shape and experience finds meaning. Although finding time to write can be a challenge, I believe it’s vital to make space for what fuels us creatively and emotionally. For me, writing is both grounding and energising — a practice of self-care, curiosity and connection.

Here, I share reflections on wellbeing, self-awareness, education, and personal growth — often inspired by my work with students, teachers, parents and clients. Each person I meet offers new insights and perspectives, reminding me how much we can learn from one another. My posts often grow from those moments of shared understanding — real stories that spark deeper thought, compassion, and change.

You’ll also find pieces drawn from my studies, workshops, and lifelong fascination with learning and human psychology. Occasionally, I write poetry too — another way I give voice to ideas and emotions that don’t fit neatly into prose.

Writing regularly helps me stay mindful, inspired, and connected — and I hope reading these posts offers the same for you. My aim is to create a space for reflection and discovery, where words can comfort, challenge, and uplift in equal measure.

So, make yourself comfortable, take a moment to browse, and see what resonates.
If something you read sparks a thought, eases a worry, or simply makes you smile — then the writing has done its job.

Happy reading, and thank you for being here.

How can we help others grow and thrive? What skills can we develop and barriers can we avoid?

When it comes to being listened to, and feeling heard, we know when we’re being 'tuned out.'

However, giving our full uncompromised attention when we listen is not as easy as it might sound. Let's take a look at why and what gets in the way.

What are Reflective and Active Listening skills and why are they an excellent tool for any mental health therapist, educator, friend, parent and human being?

Surviving, scraping by from week to week shouldn’t be our end goal. Somehow, we need to find a way to carve out little pockets of ‘thriving.’ Moments when we just feel, well, good about ourselves.

Are we consciously making time for ourselves?

Resting rather than doing. Not 'watching the TV, nodding off' type of resting, but calm, purposefully quiet stillness?

Over-stimultion and exhaustion erodes our mental health. How can we instigate and incorporate some balance back into our lives?

There is freedom and exhilaration in travelling alone. Not being alone for every trip, but sometimes.

Journeys to or through new places are especially liberating. We rely on ourselves and no one relies on us.

When our lives involve other people a lot of the time, having time to ourselves is essential. The opposite is also true. Too much time alone can have an adverse effect. As with most things, it a question of balance.

Time together and time apart.
